Jodhpur is at its most enchanting during the winter months of November to February. With temperatures ranging between 5 to 15 degrees Celsius, this season offers the perfect opportunity to explore the city beyond the usual tourist spots. The city comes alive with colorful flowers in full bloom and lush greenery. Take a leisurely stroll along the streets, visit the Banaras Hindu University, and seek blessings at the various temples like Durga Temple, New Vishwanath Temple, Batuk Bhairav Temple, and ISKCON Temple. Don't miss the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony in the evening, where the riverbank is illuminated by oil lamps and the air is filled with the sound of conches and chants.
Despite the heavy rainfall, Jodhpur sees a good influx of visitors during the monsoon season from July to October. With temperatures ranging from 25 to 30 degrees Celsius, the monsoon brings relief from the heat and raises the water level of the Ganges, attracting more people to the ghats. However, be cautious near the riverside as algae can make the steps slippery. Witnessing the Ganga in full flow during the monsoon is a thrilling experience not to be missed.
Summer in Jodhpur, lasting from March to June, is scorching hot with temperatures soaring up to 45 degrees Celsius, especially in April and May. Outdoor activities become challenging due to the intense heat and dry winds blowing across the region. Despite the heat, visiting during the auspicious festival of Mahashivratri in February can be a cultural treat. Relax by the riverside at Dashashwamedh Ghat, Assi Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat, and Kedar Ghat, and savor the famous lassi of Varanasi. The city is less crowded during this time, providing a more serene experience for travelers.
