Overview

Head to the largest temple in Pattadakal, built in the 8th century to celebrate Vikramaditya II's victory over the Pallavas of Kanchi. Admire the multiple inscriptions and stone carvings on the stone mandapa, and marvel at the sculptures of various Hindu Gods. This active temple is a must-visit in the Pattadakal complex, and was inspired by the Kailasanatha Temple in Kanchipuram.
