Deoghar, with an average temperature ranging between 5°C and 15°C, is at its most inviting during the winter months of November to February. This season offers a delightful experience for exploring the city's hidden gems beyond the usual tourist spots. With vibrant flowers in full bloom and lush greenery all around, the calm evening breeze provides a perfect backdrop for relaxing by the holy river with a warm cup of tea. Don't miss the early morning boat rides to witness the mesmerizing sunrise or a serene walk through the Banaras Hindu University campus. Visit the Durga Temple, New Vishwanath Temple, Batuk Bhairav Temple, and ISKCON Temple for blessings. The Ganga Aarti in the evening, with its golden light, fragrant incense, and melodic chants, creates an ethereal atmosphere that shouldn't be missed.
Despite the heavy rainfall from July to the second week of October, Deoghar sees a significant influx of visitors during the monsoon season. With temperatures ranging from 25°C to 30°C, the monsoon brings relief from the heat. The rising Ganges attracts more people to the ghats, offering a mesmerizing sight. However, be cautious as algae on the steps can make the riverside slippery. Witnessing the Ganga during peak monsoon is a thrilling experience not to be missed.
Deoghar experiences scorching summers from March to June, with peak temperatures reaching up to 45°C in April and May. The region lacks humidity but the intense sun makes outdoor activities challenging. The hot, dry winds add to the difficulty of bearing the extreme conditions. If visiting during these months, find solace by the riverside at Dashashwamedh Ghat, Assi Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat, and Kedar Ghat. Don't miss trying the famous lassi of Deoghar. The auspicious festival of Mahashivratri in February is a spectacle to behold.
