Nijagal Betta is located around 50 kms from Bangalore and has a rich history with ruins dotting its landscape. The hill is not a well-known spot amongst trekkers and this allows it be to free of crowds, giving you freedom to trek along its trails and experience a rare moment of serenity amidst nature.
The hill has steep, slippery terrains and passes through muddy pathways, thick bushes, small ponds and ruins of ancient temples. The route is also spotted with sculptures hailing from the Hoysala period.The trek continues towards massive boulders and ends up with a mosque on the hilltop. This place attracts devotees and heritage explorers annually. Pitching a camp at the top is a great idea to make this trek more exhilarating. Situated near Dobbaspet town of Tumkur, this hill is also known as Siddara Betta.
