About the experience
Rich in avian biodiversity, the Bhagwan Mahavir or Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary is a delight for budding and professional ornithologists. This protected land in the midst of the Western Ghats is lush and green, drawing in a variety of birds of different species.
The semi-evergreen forest is filled with tall trees and thick forest cover. Amongst the branches, vibrantly coloured birds’ flit in and out of the leaves and gives you the chance to take spectacular wildlife pictures. Endemic birds such as the Sri Lanka Frogmouth, Flame-throated Bulbul, Grey-headed Bulbul and the Malabar Parakeet are found in this enchanting sanctuary.
