About the experience

Fishing is a source of income for several Goan households. The locals in the village of Assolna are well reputed for having the freshest catch. In addition, the community is home to some of the top seafood restaurants in the region. Engage with the locals in the community and gain a better understanding of their unique ways of life. The waters here are packed with a wide variety of fish and make it relatively easy to reel in a big catch.

This trail takes you around Assolna Village, focusing on the fishermen and their lives. Riding on rustic fishing boats allow you to learn about different tactics and receive hands-on training from experienced fishermen. The natives have a variety of techniques for you to pick up from and plenty of fascinating tales to share about their travels. We also show you the numerous types of fish available at the local market, along with their names. This experience will offer you the sensation of fishing while in some of the most densely populated waters in Goa.
