About the experience

One of the best things about Pondicherry is its elegant Franco-Tamil style architecture. Located in the French Quarter, this house was once owned by Leon Guerre, the first Mayor of Pondicherry. This delightful home is 200 years old and has been carefully restored to maintain its colonial history. Each room is different, with vintage furniture sourced from various old homes that were being demolished. As you snooze away, you’re treated to the sight of warm wooden interiors and light airy spaces.

It was the best highlight of my trip to Pondicherry. The home is so beautiful and well maintained just like it is shown in the pictures.
The moment you step into the quiet quarters of the property, it takes you away from the hustle bustle and life outside! The lush greenery just like that of a beautiful forest, the yellow Chettinad style walls and pillars and the beautifully placed antiques and artifacts make you feel like you’re in a vintage movie.
The in-house chef makes delicious food and the stay was very welcoming. The house itself is a soothing space and energizes you.
A lovely heritage home right in the heart of the French Quarters, this was a lovely and calming weekend getaway away from the big city life. The place is exactly as is described and has a lot of spaces within it to hang around in, read or just relax. We did the in-house massage offered which was really good as well. Would go back any day!
Loved the garden and the ambience created, music, decor, antiques etc. The staff helped us sort out any issues we had, and we enjoyed the breakfast provided.
My stay was the most relaxing and rewarding experience. The staff deserve a special mention. They were on top of everything that is needed to make the hotel’s atmosphere memorable and the stay comfortable.

Everything was fantastic. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is prepared with love and it is both savoury and sweet. Staff is nice and always there to help guests. The location is in the white town but no rumors and the garden and the inside of the hotel is curated in every details. Love it!

Sweet staff, quaint setting and an old french feel to it. The heritage property is a small size to give you a cozy family home feel with decent amenities. If you are looking for a piece of history or experiential living, this is the place for you. Modern, luxurious or shiny gleaming are not the words to describe it.
