About the experience
There's a world lying below the surface with countless mysteries waiting to be discovered. From colourful reefs and schools of fish to underwater wrecks, diving into the ocean feels almost like entering an alternate realm. Witness the unique way of life, with such diverse creatures co-existing and thriving in their natural environment.
Scuba diving in the open ocean will have you swimming right along with these majestic sights. For the fun dive, participants need to be certified by PADI for having completed an introductory scuba diving course. If you’ve already taken part in scuba dives before as a beginner, then the open ocean will provide you a much more surreal experience by being further off the coast and hence, giving you the chance to dive to deeper depths than before.
Come along aged wrecks of small boats and ships that failed to conquer the turbulent waters. Having been used for fishing or other activities in their old life, these wrecks now serve as reefs to the vibrant coral in the region. Paddle up close to schools of fish and other marine life that populate the region and take a moment to appreciate the sheer beauty of life underwater.
Water covers around 71% of the earth’s surface. Through this scuba diving session, you’re one step closer to discovering the unknown secrets of this ancient planet we call our home.

This is my first time diving and I really liked how patiently the instructor trained. The instructor made sure I am ok through out the process. The underwater experience is awesome and it is worth to try.

Awesome experience, not even for a moment i felt in danger. The whole crew is very friendly, professional and very well trained. Proper training and guidance was provided. I would love to come back and do my ocean scuba with these guys. 100% recommended for those who wants to experience the clean and healthy under waters of Pondicherry.

Thank you so much to all the instructors and people at Temple Adventurers. I'm a non-swimmer who has a fear of water, but the way everyone took care of me was so great. The first pool session was good, and the dive was a bit worrying due to fear. But once my instructor took me down, the world was totally different. I was excited and nervous, and it's going to be a core memory in my life. Thank you, Temple Adventurers. I recommend everyone to try scuba diving once in a lifetime with the OG Temple Adventure where you don’t need to worry about anything; they will take care of everything, and you just need to follow them.
FAQs
What should I carry for this course?
Students should carry their own swimsuits, towels, caps, face masks, and personal items.
Is diving safe?
Yes, our instructors will be sure to keep your safety as the top priority and all diving equipment will be of quality standard.
How long will my dive last for?
The dive will last for anywhere between 30-60 minutes depending on your air consumption.
I wear glasses, can I still dive?
One option is to dive in contact lenses – daily disposables are best in case you lose one during some of the mask skills which can happen from time to time.
Will there be dangerous marine life?
There is nothing dangerous at the dive location. Your instructor will explain to you how to interact with marine life in an observatory way which means you will experience some great encounters with many wonderful species. The golden rule is not to touch anything – most humans would be annoyed if something they didn’t know came into their environment and poked them!
Will there be an instructor?
Yes, we maintain a strict policy of 1 diver: 1 instructor as part of our high safety standard.
What happens if I run out of air?
Firstly, it is highly unlikely that this will ever happen. During your PADI Open Water Diver course, you will be taught how to monitor your air supply frequently and you will learn that we never dive until the tank is empty, we always end the dive before air supply becomes an issue. You will also learn several different ways to deal with an “out of air situation” safely so in the unlikely event that you did run out you will have the skills required to manage the situation.
