All you want to know about the Experience
The Hampi Heritage & Wilderness Resort is a popular JLR property, giving their guests a chance to see two sides of Hampi. Situated at the edge of the Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary, this craggy red terrain is the natural home for the regal sloth bears who stretch themselves out languorously in the countryside. Apart from sighting these majestic beasts, you can also head to the watchtower perched atop a hillock in the resort and spot wild-naped hares, pangolins, porcupines, jackals and leopards. Driving 8 kms into the forest is an experience that will leave a big grin on your face. The green canopy of the trees shelters numerous avian inhabitants including peafowl, spurfowl, yellow-throated bulbuls, sand grouse, quails, sirkeer malkohas, and stone curlews.
The cool, misty mornings are the perfect time to walk through the heritage trails at Hampi. Hampi’s monuments are broadly divided into the Sacred Centre, the Royal Centre, Urban Core and Suburban Centre. Across the glistening river lies the legendary Anegundi or as it's called in the Ramayana, Kishkinda. Kishkinda is an important place in Hindu mythology and still boasts of a quaint, old-world charm with houses, aqueducts and regions that bring the Ramayana alive.
The best way to end a long satisfying day exploring the history and wildlife of Hampi is with a delicious, hot meal. The Gol Ghar offers you a wide range of cuisines and from your seat, you can spot the ancient red city in the distance. Even after two days in this gorgeous historical city, you’ll still have plenty more to see, from its lively bazaars to kayaking on the river, Hampi is a gift that keeps on giving.
