All you want to know about the Experience
Dandeli is called the ‘Adventure Capital of India’ and with its beautiful stretches of greenery, glistening waters, and rugged terrain, it’s more than what meets the eye. Old Magazine House in Dandeli brings you a hidden nook of this gorgeous adventure spot, allowing you to catch your breath and relax away from the fast-paced lifestyle of the city.
The camp is surrounded by verdant jungle, and thick sprouts of greenery bursting out from all sides, providing natural canopies for you to walk under and rejuvenate your senses. Located in a part of the forest that is not open to the general public, a variety of birds flock to this peaceful heaven on earth. Here, you can spot The Malabar Grey Hornbill, the Malabar Pied Hornbill, flycatchers, orioles, babblers, and more. At night, dine on the spacious terrace of the camp with a blanket of shining stars above you. Without the lights of the urban city, constellations can be seen easily, treating you to intricate patterns in the night sky. You can also dine by the campfire and warm yourself with its hot embers.
Love adventure sports? Pick from trekking, kayaking, or river rafting and glide down the waters of the Kali River for an experience that will leave you grinning ear-to-ear. The best time to visit the camp at Ganeshgudi is between October and March. During this time, migrant birds also visit Dandeli and their riotous colors are a sheer delight to see. For white water rafting, the season starts in November and continues till June. The forest comes alive during the monsoon season of June to September and is at its greenest. If you’d prefer to visit when Dandeli is dry and warm to soak up the sun, drop by between April and June!

Did not stay in the place but visited it. There was only dorms available which we did not take. Location is very nice. No airtel network. there is a bird hide natural one with no feeding. We could not see much activity. If there were natural feeds then birding would be more.

As a birder, you can't ask for more than this. For me, this is the first time I'm visiting OMG. I got 30-40 lifers. It was an exciting trip. Great service too for all the guests.

Good place, amazing hospitality. Mainly bird watchers stay here. But also a good place if you are a nature lover. Very peaceful and the food was also very good.
