Discover Scuba Divers can go up to a maximum of 12 metres, while certified divers can go up to 18 metres if Open Water Diver and 30 metres if Advanced Open Water Diver. The recreational diver limit is 40 metres, however, only a Deep Speciality Diver can go down to this depth.

About the experience

Do you love being in the water and want to learn more about what lies under our amazing planet's oceans, lakes, and rivers? Then the PADI Open Water Diver course is a good place to start. This internationally-recognized certification will allow you to scuba dive anywhere in the world down to a maximum of 18 metres / 60 feet depth.

The PADI Open Water Diver training lasts anywhere from three to five days. The course will teach you all you need to know to become a diver capable of diving with a buddy group without the assistance of an instructor. During theory, you'll learn about the physics of diving, the functions of various scuba equipment, the physiology of your body adjusting to the pressure underwater, communication hand signals, and more.

If you choose PADI eLearning and complete theory from home, you can save time on the island. If you've never dived before, you'll start with confined water sessions, when you'll put on your diving gear and take your first breath underwater. After hours of hard work and sweat, you’ll find yourself with a newly instilled sense of confidence with a PADI Open Water Diver certification that is valid for a lifetime!

We highly recommend that you take your time to go through the PADI Medical Form. If you answer ‘yes’ to any question, you must consult a registered doctor beforehand and get a written clearance for diving. Scuba diving is an inclusive sport, which means anyone can dive. Most of the instructors are also qualified to teach people with physical or mental disabilities.
Kids over 8 years old can participate in the PADI Bubblemaker program, where they will learn the same basics as a Discover Scuba Diver does and experience scuba diving in 2 metres / 6 feet depth.
