Kudremukh is a region located in the Chikkamagaluru district of Karnataka. It is the second highest peak in Karnataka. Trekking to the peak is a breathtaking experience, with a view that is worth the effort. The trail has all kinds of terrain, forests, grasslands and many streams. It is a vital catchment basin for several rivers, including the Tunga, Bhadra, and Nethravathi. These rivers originate in the region, further adding to the ecological significance of Kudremukh. Apart from its natural beauty, Kudremukh is famous for its coffee, cardamom, and areca cultivation. In the mornings and evenings, the camp arranges for nature walks which are amazing to explore the surrounding jungle by foot guided by knowledgeable experts from the Kudremukh Forest Department. As you traverse the trails, immerse yourself in the vibrant bird calls and flutter of butterflies. This camp is excellent for birdwatching. On your trails, you’ll discover the tracks of animals and witness vibrant birds weaving in and out of the thick greenery. You’ll be able to spot the Malabar Trogon, Malabar Whistling Thrush, Great Pied Hornbill, Imperial Pigeon, and more. JLR also arranges trekking to the Kudremukh peak and Jeep safari at an extra cost. Both the activities provide awesome experiences and are highly recommended. 

Come and explore the serene Bhadra riverside on foot. While swimming is not allowed, it is an incredibly beautiful spot for a walk. You'll find plenty of open space for outdoor games and activities. In the evening, after enjoying a cup of coffee, our knowledgeable guide will accompany you on a captivating nature walk or bird-watching excursion spanning 4 kilometres. If you're up for more adventure, embark on a morning trek that covers a distance of 7 kilometres. This route offers a delightful mix of open areas, forested paths, and challenging inclines. Just be prepared for encounters with leeches, even during the summer months. For guided treks, there are various trails to choose from, with our recommendation being the Kurinjala peak. Best season to visit Bhagawathi Nature Camp

Winter provides an appealing opportunity to visit Bhagawathi Nature Camp, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 25°C. This season offers clear skies, perfect environment for engaging in outdoor activities such as nature walks, birdwatching, and trekking.

During the monsoon season in Kudremukh, the area recieves heavy rainfall, transforming the region into a captivating lush green paradise adorned with abundant waterfalls and streams. However, it's worth noting that outdoor activities may be limited due to the rainfall and slippery terrains. To make the most of your visit during this time, it is advisable to carry essential items such as a water bottle, snacks, a stick, salt for leeches, a raincoat, and a waterproof bag.

While the monsoon season offers its own unique charm, it's important to be aware that trekking conditions may be more challenging during this time. The trail may also be limited or closed during periods of heavy rainfall or adverse weather conditions. Therefore, for a more convenient and enjoyable experience, it is recommended to plan your visit during the winter season, when the weather is more favourable and the presence of leeches is minimised.
