The Kemmannugundi Hill Resort used to serve as the summer resort of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, who later handed over the property to the Karnataka Government's Department of Horticulture.Yes, it is also referred to as the Sri Krishnarajendra Hill Station in popular culture. As of March 1, 2021, Jungle Lodges and Resorts Ltd. will operate and manage the resort and restaurant as per recent government orders.

Kemmannugundi Hill Resort is set in the Baba Budan Giri Range and features waterfalls, mountain streams, and greenery. Throughout the resort, you'll be welcomed by panoramic views of valleys and mountains, providing an appealing backdrop. Ornamental gardens mark the terrain, blending natural beauty with human artistry. The temperature remains fairly pleasant throughout the year, providing a nice relief from the summer heat.

This resort is the perfect spot for trekking devotees. Venture on a thrilling trek that will take you through dense forests and magnificent waterfalls. Enjoy majestic views when you reach the summit of the much talked-about Z Point Trek. Apart from being a paradise for trekkers, this area is also appealing to bird watchers due to the variety of birds presentt. Bring along your binoculars for a bird-spotting expedition and be on the lookout for endemic species like the Malabar Whistling Thrush and Nilgiri Wood Pigeon.

Kemmangundi Hill Resort Activities

At Kemmannugundi Hill Resort, there are exciting activities for guests to enjoy. One of the highlights is a visit to the majestic Hebbe Falls, which can be arranged with our safari jeep service at an additional cost of Rs. 500 per person (8 seater jeep). The falls are located about 12 kilometres from the resort, and the safari takes place in the evening from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm. This waterfall is inside the Bhadra wildlife sanctuary. Hebbe Falls gushes down from a height of 551 ft in two stages to form Dodda Hebbe (Big Falls) and Chikka Hebbe (Small Falls). It's a wonderful opportunity to witness the natural beauty of the falls.

In the evening, after the visit to Hebbe Falls, guests can gather around a cosy bonfire before dinner. It's a perfect way to unwind and connect with fellow travellers, enjoying the warmth of the campfire

The next day starts with an early morning adventure—a guided trek to the Z Point at Kemmannugundi. At 5:30 am, the trek begins, and it lasts for approximately 45 minutes. There are additional forest entry charges to be paid at the Z point. The trek offers a chance to explore the scenic surroundings and immerse in the calmness of the hill station.

On the way to Z Point, guests can also visit the charming Shanti Falls, which is conveniently located along the route. It adds an extra touch of natural beauty to the trekking experience. These activities at the resort provide guests with a good time to connect with nature, witness breathtaking waterfalls, indulge in adventurous trekking, and create memorable moments during their stay.

During this time, the weather is pleasant with mild temperatures, making it ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the natural beauty of the hill station. From September to November, post-monsoon conditions create lush greenery and rejuvenated waterfalls, creating breathtaking scenery.
