About Mahabaleshwar Temple

Mahabaleshwara Temple, a 4th-century temple in Gokarna, is renowned for its Shiva Linga, Atma Linga, and Dakshin Kashi, which are often considered paralleled to the Shiva Temple at Varanasi. The temple features a 1500-year-old deity carved from Lord Shiva's stone. It offers a spiritual retreat and is believed to bestow immense blessings to devotees who visit. The temple is located at Koti Tirtha Road in Gokarna, Karnataka, and is open year-round. The temple is accessible from the Gokarna Bus Main Stand, Bangla Gudda, just 600 metres away.

DAY 1:

1:00 pm - Check-in, Settle Down, and Freshen Up:

Arrive at JLR Om Beach Resort and check-in to your comfortable accommodations. 

1:30 pm - 2:30 pm - Indulge in a Sumptuous Lunch:

Head to the Gol Ghar, our delightful dining area, and treat yourself to a mouthwatering lunch. Afterward, take the opportunity to cool off and relax in the swimming pool or pamper yourself with a rejuvenating Ayurvedic massage (available from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm).

3:00 pm - 3:30 pm - Refreshments:

Enjoy a refreshing cup of tea or coffee served at the Gol Ghar. 

3:30 pm - 6:15 pm - Beach Exploration:

The resort's Jeep awaits you at the reception, ready to transport you to the captivating Kudle or Om Beach. Spend your time strolling along the shore, feeling the soft sand beneath your feet, and immersing yourself in the beauty of the coastal surroundings. The same Jeep will be available to pick you up and transport you back to the resort, ensuring convenience and comfort.

7:00 am - 9:00 am - Visit to Shree Mahabaleshwar Temple:

Awaken your spiritual senses with a visit to Shree Mahabaleshwar Temple. Take your time to offer prayers and seek blessings. You will also be taken for sightseeing around the town and shop at the local markets. 

9:30 am - 10:00 am - Breakfast:

Return to the resort and enjoy a big breakfast spread.

10:30 am - Checkout:

After a fulfilling breakfast, it is time to bid farewell to Om Beach Resort and complete the checkout process. 

Best season to visit Jungle Lodges Om Beach Resort

The most suitable season to visit Gokarna is from October to March. During these months, the weather is pleasant, and you can enjoy the beaches and outdoor activities to the fullest. Summers (April and May) can be hot, nevertheless the monsoon season (June to September) brings significant rain.

Main Attractions near JLR Om Beach Resort

1. Paradise Beach: This lovely beach is 6 Km from Om Beach Resort. The beach is less crowded and can be reached via trek or ferry ride from Kudle Beach. Om beach. The trek is awesome with the great views and some tough challenges. Once you reach here, you will get to know why it's named Paradise Beach. Most importantly, do carry necessary things such as water, food, etc with you as the beach has no shacks or cafes.

2. Yana Caves: Yana Caves are formed by massive rock formations composed of black limestone. Yana is a popular destination for adventure enthusiasts and trekkers. It is a 50 km drive from Gokarna. 

3. Murudeshwara: The Murudeshwara Temple is a popular pilgrimage site and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The main highlight of Murudeshwara is the towering Shiva statue that stands at a height of 123 feet (37 metres). It is the second tallest statue of Lord Shiva in the world. The place is also gaining popularity for scuba diving in Netrani Islands. Murudeshwar is 80 Km from Gokarna. 

4. Jog Falls: Jog Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in India and is formed by the River Sharavati plunging down from a height of approximately 830 feet, in the Shimoga District. The waterfall is 120 km away from Gokarna, a 2 hour drive. The best place to stay in the Jog Falls is the Sharavathi Adventure Camp by Jungle Lodges and Resorts.
